For the TYF Wingfoil Open in Datça we focused on the raw pace of the race line. From the first horn, the story was about lift, balance, and split-second decisions. We stayed close to the athletes, their stance changes, micro-adjustments on the foil, and the constant push to stay above the chop. Every pass, every turn marker, every overtake brought its own rhythm.
Our shooting plan was built around clarity and speed. With Sofa Surf Shop as the event sponsor, we made sure their visibility stayed natural but strong: branded lycras catching the sun, athletes in action, and signature moments where the gear and the glide worked together. On-water tracking shots were paired with clean telephoto frames to show both the intensity and the aesthetics of wingfoil racing.
Conditions shifted throughout the day, and this gave us contrast, flat sections, gust peaks, and moments where riders had to fight to keep height. We captured wipeouts, recoveries, and the focus it takes to get back into the race. Later, during the podium ceremony, the day softened: young athletes celebrating, teammates clapping, boards lined up with medals catching the evening light.
Across the entire shoot, our aim was to build a visual archive that feels fast but controlled. A race told through angles, horizon lines, and the unmistakable feeling of flying just above the water.
